Who are we:

You may have heard of us—Ashley & Martin (that’s right, the hair people). For more than 60 years, we have helped people across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore feel more confident through personalised hair-loss treatment and exceptional service.

Behind our well-known brand is a diverse team working across a growing network of clinics and support functions. Technology connects our people, protects our information and helps us deliver a seamless experience for our customers. As we continue to improve our systems and explore smarter ways of working through automation and AI, this role will play an important part in shaping how we operate.

Job Description

About the role

Ashley & Martin is looking for a capable and technically curious IT & Business Systems Analyst to take ownership of day-to-day technology support and help improve how our business operates.

This is not a graduate or entry-level role. You will need the experience and confidence to independently resolve common technology issues, administer our Microsoft 365 environment and coordinate effectively with external technology providers.

It is also broader than a traditional support role. You will work with teams across the business to understand problems, improve processes and progressively develop solutions using business systems, automation and AI. You will be our primary internal point of contact for technology requirements, supported by our managed IT services provider and specialist vendors for complex infrastructure, security and technical matters.

What we’re really looking for

We do not expect you to know every technology in our environment. We are looking for someone with solid IT foundations who is ready to broaden their capability and take greater ownership.

You will:

  • Have enough practical experience to work independently across common Level 1 and Level 2 support requirements.
  • Take ownership of issues and follow them through to resolution.
  • Be naturally curious and comfortable investigating unfamiliar technology.
  • Communicate confidently with both technical and non-technical people.
  • Enjoy helping people and improving their experience with technology.
  • See repetitive or manual work and look for a simpler, smarter solution.
  • Be interested in business systems, automation, data and AI.
  • Understand the importance of privacy, cybersecurity and appropriate access controls.
  • Balance good technology practices with practical commercial outcomes.
  • Want to understand the business—not only its technology.

What you’ll be responsible for

IT support and operations

  • Provide responsive Level 1 and Level 2 support across devices, applications, connectivity, authentication and printers, working with our managed IT services provider and specialist vendors where required.
  • Undertake initial troubleshooting and resolve common hardware, software, access and application issues, escalating complex matters to the appropriate provider and coordinating them through to resolution.
  • Manage technology onboarding and offboarding, including devices, accounts, licences, permissions and access.
  • Provision and maintain end-user devices through Microsoft Intune.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset, software and licensing records.
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate provider and coordinate them through to resolution.
  • Identify recurring issues and help address their underlying causes.

Microsoft 365 and business systems

  • Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint and Intune.
  • Manage user accounts, groups, permissions, licences and access controls.
  • Support SharePoint as our primary document storage and collaboration environment.
  • Assist with the administration and improvement of internal business applications.
  • Maintain clear system documentation, procedures and support resources.

Process improvement, automation and AI

  • Work with employees and managers to understand workflows and identify inefficient or manual processes.
  • Translate business problems into practical technology improvements.
  • Build or support straightforward integrations and automated workflows using tools such as Power Automate, APIs, webhooks and low-code platforms.
  • Help test and implement responsible uses of AI, with appropriate privacy, security and access controls.
  • Measure whether technology changes are delivering meaningful business benefits.

You do not need to arrive as an automation or AI specialist. We are looking for someone with the aptitude and interest to progressively build capability in these areas.

Cybersecurity and technology environment

Working with our managed IT services provider and specialist vendors, you will:

  • Support security controls across identity, email, endpoints and business applications.
  • Assist with MFA, access reviews, endpoint compliance and employee security awareness.
  • Investigate and escalate phishing attempts, suspicious activity and security alerts.
  • Provide initial troubleshooting for VoIP, Wi-Fi, internet and infrastructure issues.
  • Help maintain security, infrastructure and technology documentation.
  • Assist with business continuity and technology resilience activities.

Specialist providers will retain responsibility for complex infrastructure, cybersecurity and technical matters. Your role is to understand our environment, complete appropriate initial investigation and ensure issues are properly resolved.

Desired Skills and Experience

What you’ll bring

  • At least two years’ relevant experience in IT support, service desk, systems administration or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience providing Level 1 support and resolving common Level 2 issues.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365.
  • Practical exposure to Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint or Intune.
  • Sound knowledge of Windows environments, networking fundamentals, user accounts, permissions and authentication.
  • An understanding of core cybersecurity practices, including endpoint protection, MFA, email security, access management and phishing.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • The confidence to work with external providers while retaining ownership of the outcome.
  • A genuine interest in business systems, automation, integrations, data and AI.

Useful, but not essential

Experience with any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Proofpoint, CrowdStrike or Duo MFA
  • Microsoft Intune or SharePoint administration
  • Meraki, Avaya, Nutanix or CodeTwo
  • Power Automate or Power Apps
  • PowerShell or Python
  • APIs and webhooks
  • Zapier, Make, n8n or similar automation platforms
  • AI tools, APIs or AI-assisted workflows

Formal qualifications in information technology, computer science, cybersecurity or a related discipline are welcome but not essential.

Where this role can take you

You will initially focus on supporting employees and maintaining our existing technology environment.

As you build knowledge and demonstrate capability, you will progressively take on greater responsibility across:

  • Business systems
  • Automation and integrations
  • Artificial intelligence
  • Cybersecurity
  • Data and reporting
  • Process improvement
  • Technology projects

For the right person, this is an opportunity to move beyond traditional IT support and build a broader career in business systems, automation, cybersecurity or technology leadership.
